Novels

I keep reading whatever I get my hands on - but my favorites are PG Wodehouse, Sir Walter Scott and Louis L'Amour.

I also like poetry a lot. Try the Minstrels list for a poem every day. I have a fairly eclectic taste I suppose, but I especially like poems by Chaucer, Kipling, Keats, Sir Walter Scott (who wrote a lot of poetry before he became a novelist)

My favorite Indian poets (in English) are Eunice deSouza and AK Mahadevan, for what its worth. You'll find plenty of poems by these people in the Minstrels archives

Well, I may have a fairly eclectic taste, but I dont like some kinds of poetry, such as the weepy, sentimental wailings of Toru Dutt and the maudlin ramblings of Sarojini Naidu. Another abomination is the Chhayavaad genre of Hindi poetry, with its overuse of imagery and flowery verse.
